There are plenty of ways to get results ...@jkummer

There are plenty of ways to get results voided, and there are rumors circulating about teams that did it. All you need to do is add an extra player that isn't playing with you to your roster at the beginning of the season, if you don't like the results bump them on the next roster, if you do, leave them.

I did say that, yes, it was our women's teams' own fault that their results got voided, no question about that, (however, our school DOES NOT let us know anything about a person's eligibility before the final roster because USA ultimate restrictions are far greater than our school's club restrictions, so they have no idea). My overall point there though, was that because of one slight slip up, there's a team not receiving a regionals bid (CU Women) that is classically an elite team.

I applaud your hard work with your team. The team that I coach also did what you did to ensure our results would all count, but not everyone is on top of stuff like that, and it's a difficult transition year, with a very confusing new set of rules.Katfishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07369665056160314596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6853626900440511419.post-51242945728480431702011-04-20T10:01:16.473-07:002011-04-20T10:01:16.473-07:00Nice topic. You have to submit a roster beforehand, so you'd have to know in advance you'd have a bad tournament? And if you do it by choosing not to get a player registrar certified, then that player is ineligible for each tournament he played at as well as for the Series. So, you'd have to know in advance you would have a bad tournament or know in advance you were going to cut a player or he was going to quit your team. That's a little insane.

It's not as simple as changing a roster either.

"Additionally, if a team's roster changes at all from their early season tournament rankings, to their final USA Ultimate approved roster. then their results are voided (as far as the rankings are concerned), for any tournaments where there were roster inconsistencies."

This is also way too vague of a statement. The way results get voided is ONLY if you play someone during a tournament who is not a full or part time student. In all the cases I heard about for this year, the school informed the club beforehand that a person was not a student and the team let that person travel and play with them anyway. That is neither the school's nor USAU's fault. And it's not if a roster changes at all the results are voided. If you play with John Doe in the beginning of the year and then John Doe quits the team, so long as you still get him registrar certified as a player, you are fine. Just throw him on your submitted roster (there are no roster caps so it doesn't matter how many people you have) and as long as he paid either the one time tournament fee ($10) or is a USAU member ($50) then you are fine.

As the Captain of my team, I did my work before the season began and made sure I knew the rules. I made everyone pay to be a USAU member before each sanctioned tournament and submitted my registrar certified information a week ahead of time and included everyone who played with us at a sanctioned tournament. None of our results were voided for either our A or B teams. I honestly cannot see how hard that is. Just make a master list of everyone who played with you at the conclusion of the Fall, get all of them registrar certified (it took our registrar a day and a half to check 40-50 people, and I doubt teams have more players than that), and make sure those who play at sanctioned tournaments pay some kind of membership fee.jkummerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07718276523203280365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6853626900440511419.post-19833811189631650042011-04-19T21:56:24.256-07:002011-04-19T21:56:24.256-07:00Hi, Katfish. I can see where you are coming from....Hi, Katfish. I can see where you are coming from. Wyoming and Colorado are pretty good teams this year, and Colorado State has a very real possibility that they'll be on the outside looking in (waitlist) if they can't put together a good game against Wyoming. I can't remember the last time Colorado State didn't attend regionals. Either way, regionals won't be as competitive without one of those teams.

Perhaps some of those small D-III schools that get the bids (looks like Drury, John Brown, Hendrix, Dallas right now) might not go to Denver. Since the OZ and STX sections have stronger records, the 3rd place team in the RM section would need all but three D-IIIs team to decline in order to get another bid.

Good luck this weekend!
-DBDavid Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02851916714328114716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6853626900440511419.post-41078000324941550362011-04-19T20:46:19.235-07:002011-04-19T20:46:19.235-07:00@Matt

I have no idea how they're going to handle the extra bids that would have gone to the DIII conference, versus their nationals bids etc. But the waitlist order goes OZ, OZ, NTX, RM, RM. I'd guess that 4 bids from the SCNIII's total six will end up going to the other conferences, but we'll see.Katfishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07369665056160314596noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6853626900440511419.post-4986906773812953172011-04-19T19:52:28.486-07:002011-04-19T19:52:28.486-07:00So, these are the auto-bids from our region:

I think Harding will go to DIII Nationals, but that's a guess. Beneath that, the rest of the teams will vacate their regionals bids.

Assuming I'm right about all that, that means there would be TWO more bids available for regionals, correct?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6853626900440511419.post-13003524547974516512011-04-19T19:42:55.320-07:002011-04-19T19:42:55.320-07:00South Central also includes Missouri as noted by o...South Central also includes Missouri as noted by one of my team members...Katfishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07369665056160314596noreply@blogger.com
